The feature transfers app data, login states, and messaging app chat histories over WiFi 7, handling an average of 250GB in approximately 8 minutes according to OnePlus's claims—roughly four times faster than Apple's Quick Start.

Device-to-device data transfers have become a critical part of the smartphone upgrade experience. Apple's Quick Start has set the standard for iOS users, while Android manufacturers have offered various solutions with inconsistent speed and reliability. OnePlus's approach leverages WiFi 7's bandwidth to compress the transfer timeline significantly, removing friction from the switch to a new device.

One-Click Upgrade requires both the source and destination phones to run OxygenOS 15.2 or later, limiting its immediate utility to users upgrading within OnePlus's current generation lineup.
